About DBDiagrams.com

This website serves as a repository for various data models.
They can help you think about the design of your own databases.
Let yourself be inspired! And if you have any suggestions for improvement, we will be happy to give you space to publish your improved or new data models here.

Tooling

On our website you will find several online ERDs and data model samples visualized in Luna Modeler.
These are examples or reports of database structures created for databases like MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, SQL Server or Oracle databases. We plan to publish here also schema designs for noSQL databases like MongoDB.

Data Models and Online ERD

Every data model or online ERD (entity-relationship diagram) shows a possible database structure.

  • Data models are like the first drafts of something, and you always have to tweak them to fit your needs.
  • ER diagrams created from open source systems are a fantastic way to visualize existing solutions, which are often based on MariaDB or MySQL. While they don’t show relationships because they aren’t defined in the database, they’re a great starting point! These online ER diagrams are a fantastic resource for understanding how the database was created.

Each page/post displays a resizable HTML report (drag right bottom corner to enlarge the diagram area), a link to a page where the online ERD can be displayed in full screen view, and a link to a project file that can be opened in Luna Modeler.

Samples and diagrams of existing structures

There are, of course, a number of projects that are working towards a similar goal – whether it’s a CMS for managing your site’s content, or an online forum, and so on. At dbdiagrams.com you will find online ERDs of systems such as:

Why?

The goal of this site is not to provide breathtaking documentation, but to offer a different perspective on database structures. You might find something here that will inspire you, find out what could be improved or done differently. Need to create a new database table to store user data? See how others have done it, what data types they used, etc.

Do you need a better functionality?

If you want to view the SQL code, edit the diagram, change colors, or even start working on your own project – such as developing a plugin for one of the above systems – open the diagram in Luna Modeler and enjoy data modeling.

Opening the diagram is easy, see How to open ER diagrams in Luna Modeler for details.
